History

The roots of Dimex Power Electronics lie with parent company Cerdi. This company manufactures equipment for MIG, TIG and electrode welding and already exists since 1947. At this moment there are 15 employees at the establishment in Izegem, Belgium.

Since 1990 Cerdi has been developing, besides the traditional welding devices, new welding devices based on the inverter technology. The use of electronics allowed them to make those devices more compact, give them better welding qualities and obtain more possibilities concerning programming, communication, etc.

Over the years however, Cerdi received more and more demand for power electronics. To make a clear distinction with the welding machines, in 1998 the company Dimex Power Electronics was set up. Dimex became a business that realizes customized projects for companies who need heavy power for different applications. Concretely this means electronic power supplies up to 200 kVA, induction heating, DC motor controls and all kinds of transformers.

Now already, the reference list of Dimex has a lot of nice realizations. For Bekaert in Deinze we have made power supplies of 180 kVA with inverter technology and power supplies for the production of solar cells on pvc foil. To CNH in Zedelgem, Dimex delivered power supplies of 500 kVA for treating metal parts with water-based paint. Other names on the reference list are Boucherie from Izegem, Umicore from Hoboken, Electrabel, Eandis, TVH Forklift Parts in Waregem,…

Meanwhile, we continue to strive to add value for our shareholders, suppliers, employees, the government and especially our customers. Dimex is already on its way to become a reference point for power electronics in Belgium.
